U.S. Strikes Iranian Drone Storage Facilities in Response to Attack on Merchant Vessel

U.S. forces have launched retaliatory strikes against Iranian missile and drone storage facilities and coastal radar installations following an attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

The attacks, which are ongoing according to U.S. Central Command, target Iranian sites after Tehran launched four one-way drones at the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely on June 25. The incident occurred while the vessel was transiting near Oman’s coast.

The drone strike caused damage to the M/V Ever Lovely but did not sink it, allowing the ship to continue its journey. U.S. Central Command confirmed that three of the four drones were neutralized by American forces.

Iran and the United States had signed a 60-day ceasefire agreement on June 17, which Iran has allegedly violated through this aggression against commercial shipping.
