Vivek Ramaswamy’s appearance at YALCON crumbled under immediate scrutiny after he arrived thirty minutes late and faced thunderous boos from the crowd of 18-24-year-olds. His speech—a stark dismissal of Gen Z’s struggles—was met with chants like, “You think Americans are dumb?” and “Why can’t we afford a home?” Ramaswamy claimed his generation had already secured its future while blaming younger voters for bearing the consequences: “It is going to be your generation that is going to pay the price.” This stance drew condemnation for ignoring systemic issues like immigrant labor programs and failing to propose concrete solutions for youth unemployment, housing insecurity, or economic instability.
