GOP Representative Andy Ogles of Tennessee has launched a campaign to repeal the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act (Hart-Celler) and revert to the immigration restrictions established by the 1924 law.
In recent posts, Ogles shared content from Geiger Capital that had been previously reposted by former President Donald Trump. The message highlighted how the 1924 Act, signed by President Calvin Coolidge, imposed strict quotas and banned immigrants from non-European nations to protect American identity. It contrasted this with the Hart-Celler law, which opened borders to immigrants from developing countries.
Ogles specifically criticized Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a Somali refugee, and New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, an Indian-Ugandan immigrant. He has called for their deportation, stating that Mamdani is “an antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York” and should be subject to denaturalization proceedings.
The representative also criticized House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries as a “Dollar Store Obama,” accusing him of being “hysterically rambling” about tax cuts for working Americans and mass deportations. Ogles introduced the Send Them Back Act, which would expedite removal of individuals who entered illegally after January 20, 2021.
In his latest posts, Ogles declared that Tennessee is under attack from “leftist migrant lovers” who are “lawless,” urging the deployment of the National Guard to “clean up their mess.” He has consistently advocated for a quota-based immigration system and the elimination of H-1B visas.
