Trump Calls Netanyahu ‘Crazy,’ Orders Halt to Lebanon Attacks as Navy Blockade Threatens Gas Prices

President Trump confirmed he referred to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as “crazy” during a recent phone call, stating that Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon must cease. The remarks followed reports from multiple sources that Trump used strong language during the conversation.

According to multiple sources, Trump described Netanyahu as “fking crazy” and said, “You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me.” He added that Netanyahu was “psed” and at one point yelled, “What the fk are you doing?”

Trump claimed the call was “productive,” noting that Israel would not send troops to Beirut and that any forces en route had already been turned back. However, Netanyahu countered on social media that attacks against so-called terror targets in Lebanon would continue.

The president also indicated that a U.S. Navy blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could persist through Labor Day, potentially driving up gasoline prices for American consumers well into the summer. This development has raised concerns about the impact on the upcoming November midterm elections and the Republican Party’s prospects.

Netanyahu described his relationship with Trump as “very good,” stating that they share key goals regarding Iran’s nuclear program but have “tactical disagreements” that are typically resolved quickly.

Trump’s comments come amid reports of declining public support for Israel in the United States. A recent Pew Research survey found 60 percent of American adults view Israel unfavorably, with majorities under age 50 rating Netanyahu negatively.

The president also dismissed claims that Iran has Trump “over a barrel,” calling such reporting “fake news” and claiming Iran’s economy is collapsing due to high inflation and military weaknesses.
